What is Forum?
I love forum. I’ve been in the same forum for over 25 years. I’ve founded four others. These people are my best friends. They have helped me grow immeasurably as a leader, friend, husband, father, human being. I rely on my forum-mates for everything from help solving a thorny problem, to recommendations for a new IT consultant. These are the people we can call at three in the morning, tell them to bring a shovel, and they come, no questions asked.
What To Expect
The first hour is devoted to relationship building, sharing the
most important experiences and challenges since the last
meeting, plus a conversation starter designed to deepen our
bonds.
This is followed by two structured, peer-led presentations,
coached by Jonathan.
- Explanation of the challenge by the presenter.
- Clarifying questions from the forum to better understand the issue.
- Each member shares relevant experience that we can all learn from and be inspired by.
As desired by the group, one of these presentations can be an
outside expert, or leadership training led by Jonathan.
Ten-minute breaks each hour.
Communication between meetings via a dedicated WhatsApp
group and 1:1 calls is encouraged but not required.

Forum Relationships Are Different From What You Might Currently Enjoy With Your Friends And Colleagues
Confidentiality— Unless a member specifically gives you permission to share their situation, nothing you hear should be repeated outside of forum. Breaches of confidentiality can result in expulsion from the forum. This is required to create a trusted space for deep sharing.
Experience, not advice— In forum we don’t tell each other what to do. We respect the intelligence and agency of our peers to make their own decisions. We limit our sharing to our own experience, and let others draw their own conclusions and make their own commitments.
Transparency— We focus on what’s truly important. No sugar coating. No posturing. No trivialities. Just deep and vulnerable sharing of what matters most.
Safe, supportive, positive environment where everyone can be their most vulnerable, authentic selves.
No politics (except as directly related to a member’s mission).
